For the practice it was hard enough to go down the course without crashing but for raceday it started to rain on saturday afternoon and stayed like this to the end of sunday. This made it even harder to stay on your bike. Michi Gölles was the fastest rider on sunday and became Austrian Downhill Champion.

KOBES and KUDELLA win Players Cup in Ilmenau
The race course is getting better from year to year. This year it had some double jumps, berms and bowls like in a skatepark and at the end you have the 30m! drop next to a ski jump. This all before you get in the last turn. This turn is manmade out of wood and  it is 2 meter high. All this makes the track fun to ride. With the times of two runs added for the win it was Britta Kobes in the women races who got the fastest overall time to win the race. In the men race it was Stefan Kudella who had two times the fastest time and was the only rider making it under 3 minutes. The race saw rider from Finland, Chechia, Austria, Netherlands, Belgium and Croatia. Pics and results coming soon!

World cup  comes to an end

Avalanche Cup Ventron / France

in leysin / switzerland the 2000 world cup had the last race. with the overall title already won by lopes, chausson and vouilloz the only thing to grab was the race win. at the dual it went like usually and the wins went to lopes and chausson. this mean they only lost one race in the whole world cup season. chausson because she did not race the first round in les gets. The track was build for some hard race. so lopes put on his dainese to protect him in the case of a crash. The european champion michael deldyck is getting better every race and we are waiting for the next saison to see him going for the win. in downhill the weather made it not easy. it was muddy and slippery and the long cours was best for chausson who won by 40 seconds. in the mensrace it was cedric garcia who who made the top of the podium. vouilloz in second and pascal in 3rd place. could this race be the international france championships?

Big jumps (5-15meter) and a lot of berms made the cours in ventron fun to ride. saturday it was the best weather an they held the mom´avalanche (kind of a kids race) where you could understand why the france are so good in downhill. 11 years old rider were rocking the cours even the big jumps were not to difficult for the youngsters. on sunday in rained and the track was still in pretty good conditions and alex balaud won with a time that was 7 seconds slower than the fastest kid one day before. think about this!
