Date of Birth: 08-June-1977

Hometown: Berlin / Germany

Who are your sponsors? OBG Clothing, Pyro Shoe Systems, Honda Meyer, motoX magazine, Arnette Goggles, Bridgestone Tires, Premier Helmets, Motorex Oils, Magura Handlebars

Do you have a girlfriend? Yes, her name is Maya and we are together since nearly 5 years

When did you start to ride Motocross? I started when I was 10 years old in the summer of ‘87

What did you do before? Riding BMX in the paddock with my brother and watching my father race

What was you biggest succees so far? I have the biggest success in the moment with the Freestyle MX scene growing so fast and being Germanys number one freestyler

How do you train for the races/ Freestyle contest? I just have fun when I sit on a motorcycle. I just try to enjoy riding and jumping on every spot I ride. I don’t have a schedule for this.

Who do you train with? Training is such an ugly word... I go riding with my boss and room mate Wolfgang Brandt very often, I also go riding with my freestyle buddies Klaus Meyer, Fabian Bauersachs and Chris Töws.

What are you doing when you are not riding your bike? I am working in the motoX mag office, study sportscience, ride my BMX bike as often as I can and go snowboarding in the winter. I also started doing some videostuff a few weeks ago.

What will you do in the winter? In December I will go to the Australian summer X-games in Melbourne. That’s pretty cool! Maybe I will go to Israel for jumping right after this. If I don’t jump while the German Supercross series I will relax and ride as much BMX as I can. We’ll see...

Descibe what it is like to do Freestyle Motocross!? It is awesome and so much more fun than being a serious racer. Don’t understand me wrong: racing is also fun. But if you are involved in a serious racing team there is a lot more pressure on you. In FMX it is more relaxed and fun. The promoters listen to us riders and we hang out together and have fun. I also like it if I recognise that the people who watch like what I’m doing out there.

Descibe a normal day in your life?! I get up in the morning, have breakfast and watch Prince of Bel Air on TV. After this I go into the motoX office and work as editor, what is also a lot of fun. Sometimes we go riding MX or BMX in the afternoon or evening. Then I go home and sleep. Boring, isn’t it..? In general I try to enjoy life. I think everybody should try to do so. You can also work hard and enjoy life, I think!

What should be changed in Germany? The weather!!! The people should become more relaxed and please make the fuel cheaper!!! I think I have to kill someone for the high fuel prices... I think I don’t want to change Germany, because it is easier for me to move to California!

What are your goals for 2001? I will do Freestyle in ’01 and only a few races if I want to race and the weather is nice. In FMX I want to improve more and more and do as many big contests as I can. I would like to do some contests in the USA next year. I want to build my own ramp for “practice” (uuuh, again this ugly word...), to close the gap to the french and US-jumpers.

Last words: First I would like to thank everybody who supports me in my life and in my sport. Freestyle rules and will go on ruling, even if some old guys don’t believe it! Freestyle has to be free and wild, nothing else!
